Owned by the Mitchell family since 1999, Montalto is where seasonal, heirloom produce is grown, shared and celebrated. Montalto’s home estate of 30 acres under vine is the primary source for their premium wines, and the expansive kitchen gardens and orchards supply their kitchens in The Restaurant and The Piazza.

Montalto’s award-winning winemaking team, led by Simon Black, create wines of exemplary quality and character, utilising winemaking techniques that complement the unique qualities derived from only the very best parcels of fruit taken from their five vineyards, in a style that reflects each vineyard site. Perfect to drink now, or to cellar, Montalto wines are to savour.

The Restaurant at Montalto

Like the seasons, the menu continues to be ever-changing, however always showcasing a celebration of our estate-grown heirloom produce, alongside the very best locally sourced ingredients from across the Mornington Peninsula.

Specifically designed to share, curated collections of dishes arrive at the table in a series of courses. Each course masterfully highlights the deep connection between the estate gardens (expertly managed by our Produce Manager Julie Bennett), the kitchens and the award-winning wines, inspired by Culinary Creative Director, Matt Wilkinson.

Montalto invites you to enjoy lunch in The Restaurant, from Friday – Monday, whilst looking out over the breathtaking view across its Red Hill vineyards, Sculpture Trail through to Western Port on the horizon. Reservations are essential.

The Piazza at Montalto

Enjoy an abundant menu of casual starters, mains, sides and desserts – all matched with Montalto’s award-winning wines, whilst overlooking the estate gardens, vines and sculptures.

The Sculpture Trail at Montalto

Sculpture is an integral part of life at Montalto and a highlight of any visit to the estate. Their 1km Sculpture Trail winds through the vines, along wooden boardwalks and through the wetlands and affords spectacular views of both the sculptures and the property along the way. Many of the permanent sculptures were winners of the Montalto Sculpture Prize – among the most valuable private sculpture prizes in Australia
