You Yangs Regional Park and Serendip Sanctuary offer nature adventures and wildlife viewing only a short distance from Avalon Airport, Geelong and Melbourne. Take an energetic hike to enjoy panoramic views from Flinders Peak, or spend quiet time observing 150 species from bird hides.

The granite peaks of the You Yangs Regional Park dominate the skyline north of Geelong. Only 55km from Melbourne and 22km from Geelong, it’s an excellent spot to enjoy nature close to the city.

Perfect for hikes and bushwalks, the views from the top at Flinders Peak (340m elevation) extend in every direction, with an incredible 360 degrees to take in. Along the way you may encounter Australian native animals such as koalas, kangaroos, possums or echidnas.

Nearby, Serendip Sanctuary is made up of grassy woodlands and wetlands on the volcanic plains. It’s the ideal habitat for the 150 species of birds who live, breed and visit the sanctuary and visitors can have close encounters from hides and viewing platforms. The Wildlife Walk takes visitors on a stroll past emus, kangaroos and other native wildlife.
